XML sitemap generator
Create a sitemap for your website in a minute. Enter your address, check the pages we found, then download sitemap.xml and upload it to your site.
How it works
From your homepage to a finished sitemap
The generator reads your website the way a search engine does, so the sitemap lists the pages search engines should index.
Step 1
Enter your website
Type your domain, like example.com. We start at your homepage.
Step 2
We crawl it like a search engine
Our crawler follows the links on your pages, respects robots.txt, and skips pages marked noindex, duplicates that point to a canonical page, broken links and files.
Step 3
Download sitemap.xml
You get a standard XML sitemap (sitemaps.org protocol), ready for Google, Bing and every other search engine. Check the list of pages before you download.
Step 4
Upload it and tell search engines
Put the file in your website's root folder, add one line to robots.txt, and submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
What a sitemap does for you
A sitemap is a list of the pages on your website that you want search engines to find. Google and Bing still discover pages by following links, but a sitemap helps them find new pages sooner, notice when pages change, and reach pages few other pages link to.
It matters most for new websites with few links from elsewhere, large websites, and sites that add pages often. It doesn't guarantee a page gets indexed or ranks, but it removes one reason for a page to be missed.
A sitemap looks like this
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
<url>
<loc>https://example.com/</loc>
</url>
<url>
<loc>https://example.com/pricing</loc>
<lastmod>2026-10-06</lastmod>
</url>
</urlset>Each page is a <url> with its address, and optionally the date it last changed.
How to use your sitemap
- Upload sitemap.xml to your root folder, so it opens at
https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. Use your host's file manager, FTP, or your project'spublicfolder. - Add it to robots.txt with one line:
Sitemap: https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. Every search engine reads robots.txt, so this is how they all find it. - Submit it in Google Search Console: open your property, go to Sitemaps, enter
sitemap.xmland press Submit. Do the same in Bing Webmaster Tools. - Keep it current. Generate a new one when you add or remove pages, and replace the old file.
