How StaTrak counts visitors without cookies
StaTrak is built to answer "how many people visited, from where, and what did they read?" without identifying anyone.

What we collect
- Page URL and referrer
- Browser, operating system and screen size category
- Country, region and city (looked up, then the IP is discarded)
- UTM campaign parameters
- Time on page while the tab is visible
What we never collect
- Cookies, localStorage or any identifier on the visitor's device
- IP addresses (never written to disk)
- Fingerprints from fonts, canvas or hardware
- Cross-site or cross-day visitor profiles
- Data sold or shared with advertisers
Unique visitors with a daily hash
To tell whether two pageviews came from the same visitor, StaTrak computes:
visitor_id = sha256(daily_salt + site_domain + ip_address + user_agent)The salt is random, kept in memory, and deleted every 24 hours. Because the site's domain is part of the input, the same person has a different hash on every website. Because the salt rotates, today's hash can't be linked to yesterday's. Only the hash is stored, never the IP address.
Your data, your control
Only aggregated statistics are kept, and only for your account. You can export or permanently delete a site's data from its settings at any time.
